I'm new here! Let's get started.

I feel like I should introduce myself a little further than I did on December's monthly email update. First and foremost, I'm Gigi. Like the book... or the movie. ::wink:: I moved here to Brisbane June of 2016 from Newport, RI USA. I've been instructing Pilates here for a little over a year now. I found Pilates- actually, Pilates found me in the Autumn of 2006 while I was working full time racing and crewing on large private sailboats. I spent so much time offshore that I needed an exercise routine that I could do where space was limited. I was also a competitive distance runner, and in about a month's time, I started to notice very positive changes in my race times and overall performance- as well as improved posture! Pilates soon became my go-to workout. I found myself living in Manhattan, New York City during the winter of 2009 when I decided that it was time to become a Pilates Instructor, After I had my son in 2014, I had to scale back my sailing quite a bit and Pilates soon ruled my life! Twelve years since discovering the hundred for the first time, it's definitely transformed my life, and I'm still loving every minute of it.

It's been a fabulous week in the studio getting to know all of our valued instructors and members- everyone is so welcoming! Thank you! The holidays are a tricky period to dive into anything head first, but we survived our first week rather well I believe! There will be some positive changes made to the studio over the month of January such as a newly finished floor, and some fresh paint. I will keep everyone updated on our studio mini makeover.

Please bare with us as we make some minor changes and additions to our class timetable for this week. I have the new timetable configured, and it will appear in Mindbody over the little holiday break as we make a fresh start in the new year! Please note that we will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, as well as Tuesday, New Years Day. Please check your Mindbody app for our revised schedule as many of our members and instructors are away on holiday. Please note that our videos are back up on the webpage, and I will post some links if you would like to follow along to a Gigi-approved mat Pilates lesson. Have a wonderful, relaxing holiday, and we are looking forward to seeing everyone bright and early in the new year!
